WHO WE ARE

LifeLine exists today because a group of friends got together to support a vision where everyone in the Cayman Islands understands the importance of CPR/AED training and has quick access to an AED.

We are driven by our personal stories and experiences, and we want the community to benefit from the knowledge we have acquired. It should not take the loss of a life to make positive changes.

DIRECTORS

CHRISTINA
KISH

Christina is an attorney who practised in the Cayman Islands for 11 years before giving up her position in February 2020 to focus solely on LifeLine.

In 2018 Christina’s son, daughter and husband were diagnosed with an electrical heart condition called Long QT Syndrome. Since then her family has embarked on a journey of medical education, including being trained and facilitating the training of over 200 others in the use of CPR and AEDs, and the dos and don'ts of life with a known electrical heart condition.

LifeLine is the result of wanting something positive to come out of something negative.

GLENNA
BLACK

Glenna lost her husband, Julian Black, in May 2017 following a spontaneous aortic dissection. A former partner at Walkers and Appleby and group director of Estera Trust when he died, Julian was well known in the Cayman community and was a strong supporter of the jurisdiction and of several charities locally. In the months following his death the Julian Black Community Star Trust was set up and the Trust received some generous donations.

When Glenna heard about Christina's efforts to create a national AED database and place AEDs in desperately needed locations, she offered financial support on behalf of the Trust as well as her own time and effort as a director and supporter of LifeLine.

MELISSA
SHAW

Melissa is an empowering CPR/AED and First Aid trainer who spent 18 years as respiratory therapist and on the cardiac arrest team at HSA. She runs a CPR/AED training business and has an incredible breadth of experience.

Melissa has spent many hours in our community teaching CPR/AED (for both medical and non-medical professionals) and registering AEDs on the LifeLine database.

JULIAN
LEWIS

Julian is the Director of the Department of Public Safety and Communications, which heads up 911. With his involvement, LifeLine is working on the computer system whereby the LifeLine database is made available to the 911 operators. This part of the organisation cannot progress without the full support of the DPSC, and LifeLine is extremely grateful to Julian for all of his help.

EMMA
PARKER

Emma is the founder of Sidekick, a Cayman Islands-based marketing consultancy. She has been in the Caribbean for 12 years and in Cayman since 2012. She has kindly offered her unique marketing and PR skills to promote LifeLine as well as her own experience as the owner of a successful business in Cayman.

SUPERVISOR

JOANNAH
BODDEN
SMALL

Jo is a former partner of Maples and Calder and active supporter of many charities in Cayman. She had a stroke in her early 20s which was caused, in part, by cardiac issues she was not aware of. She fortunately has made a full recovery and has been a strong supporter of LifeLine from its very early days. We are hugely grateful that she has agreed to provide her advice and her legal skills to help make LifeLine a success.

VOLUNTEER

CLAIRE
SCOTT

Claire comes from a destination management and events background and moved from Scotland to the Cayman Islands in 2019. She has spent many hours working on the LifeLine database and has been an incredible asset to our new organisation.

VOLUNTEER

Do you have a few hours to spare? If so, we would love to hear from you. Please contact us to find out how you can contribute to our organisation.

SPECIAL THANKS

We wouldn’t be where we are today without the help of a number of local and international businesses.
